Folks, note that the posters above (Alex Krenvalk and “Repair Pst”) are promoting repackaged versions of the same software I list above. (Although, Alex Krenvalk’s link may be to the actual product site where I have posted a reseller.. it’s difficult to tell.)

For whatever reason, there is a lot of this kind of thing with Microsoft repair tools, antivirus software, and the like. There seems to be two types of scenarios:

1. Vendors wrapping their own interface around a library and selling the product as their own.
2. Aggregators reselling software.

I would avoid both. Probably you won’t get the support you need.

Not a lot to add. I was a little annoyed that AOR crashed when I finally tried to do a full recovery (see Advanced Outlook Repair Crash). The folks at DataNumen had me upload my .pst to an ftp server, they did the recovery themselves and then sent me the results.. End result is the same, I recovered a surprising amount of data. And of course I can now vouch for the quality of DataNumen’s support.

It’s been quite a few months since you compared these Outlook repair apps. Any updates or additional comments you want to add?

This post was VERY helpful in my evaluating the different applications. There’s not a a lot to choose from in the marketplace it seems.
